Grand Canyon Snowcoach Safaris

Departing from Mammoth Hot Springs, the quietest gateway to Yellowstone’s “Winter Wonderland”, we travel via our unique warm and comfortable snowcoaches to the spectacular wonders of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, home to the awe inspiring Upper and Lower Falls. Witness the 109 ft Upper Falls and the 308 ft Lower Falls, both encased in ice and snow, as if they were frozen in time.

We follow the park’s namesake, the Yellowstone River into the expansive Hayden Valley, where we stop for lunch and watch for trumpeter swans and frolicking otters alongside its frozen shoreline. Explore the hottest and most active thermal area in Yellowstone, the Norris Geyser Basin, home to the world’s largest active geyser, Steamboat, and the spectacular colors of the Porcelain Basin. As we make our way to and from the Grand Canyon area, you have the opportunity to view some of the park’s diverse and abundant wildlife; bison (buffalo), elk, coyotes, wolves and a variety of bird species, from Canada geese to bald eagles. This safari has something for everyone, from thermals and wildlife to spectacular winter landscapes.

All snowcoach tours are provided by Yellowstone Year-Round Safaris, a Yellowstone National Park authorized concessionaire.
